High School Graduation Parties Got You Thinking About Screen Doors?

How many of you had a party this week and noticed that the flies enjoyed your food inside your home more than the guest?

Anaheim Hills, CA, June 28, 2011 ? How many of you had a party this week and noticed that the flies enjoyed your food inside your home more than the guest?

After my Graduation Party last year my grandma bought me a StowAway Retractable Screen as a Graduation Present. As we were all sitting down to eat we had a few flies decided to join us! As I was closing up the house and turning on the air conditioner I had mentioned how cool my house is when the doors are open, and what a shame it is that I have to close up my house.

I have a unique back door with a low over hang so a Traditional Swinging Screen will not work on my door so this makes the Retractable Screen Door even more wonderful. My Grandma sent me a gift card for my Single Door Retractable Screen which made it easy for me because all I had to do was make an appointment for the measure and the install. The entire job start to finish took about 2 weeks and it was worth the wait.

Not only did we enjoy a bug free graduation party for my sister this year, but I have saved money in the last year now that I can leave my back door open.

Make best use of Your Sales Training - Free Article Directories ...

The sales section or sales force is definitely the life line of each corporation. The tougher your sales team is, the bigger your income. But in today?s business market place, there are several aspects that affect your sales team?s accomplishment. This also is why you should find the best sales training seminar and make certain you will get the most from it.

Sales trainings are created to assist you as well as your staff to build up particular strategies and skills to enhance how they approach sales. A good sales training will coach you and your team probably the most top of the line and most efficient ways to close a sale.
However, not every sales training will assist you to attain your goals. It?s either the sales training is actually boring or it?s not but the techniques are ineffective. I?ve seen this take place one too many times.
Exactly how do you get the best sales training for your team? Well, the solution essentially depends on the things you do to find it.
It?s extremely hard to put into words the importance of creating a fully-functioning and undertaking sales team. They sell your product or service, they speak with your consumers, influence them to buy and preferably, sell it.

Now, a lot of people feel that the very best sales people either got their ?talent? through good luck or an inborn capability to build up rapport and attraction. Well, this is extremely mistaken.

When you search for a sales training, you need to focus on a tool which offers you most important skill that each and every sales person should have: persuasion.

Persuasion is the ability to alter someone?s thinking or thoughts. It?s an approach that?s crucial in the sales business. If you know the way the consumer before you will make his / her choices, you?d be able to sell your products or services very well.
There?s lots of more things that you should learn within your sales training, nevertheless, you ought to put a prime on the development and mastering of persuasion.

When you?re searching for a sales training, below are a few more ideas to make sure you can get the most from it:

1. Ask your sales team what their everyday and leading difficulties are. In each and every sales section, you will discover strengths and weakness. Once you?ve recognized these matters, you might find a sales training business that would educate you on how you can get over your weak spots and improve on the powerful ones.

2. Set a goal for you staff. Most people get in a training not knowing what they actually want to achieve by the end from it. When you or your staff knows exactly what they want to obtain (new style of selling, developing rapport more quickly), your sales training will be a success.

3. New techniques to improve on people skills. A highly effective salesperson is able to construct rapport, trust plus a great relationship with a customer. Look for a sales training company which will teach your staff the best way to be a little more customer-oriented plus a master of people skills.

Poison abortion doctor struck off

Edward ErinErin did not show remorse for his actions, the GMC said

A doctor who was jailed for trying to poison his lover to induce a miscarriage has been struck off the medical register.

A General Medical Council (GMC) disciplinary panel found Edward Erin had "shown no remorse" and had not "gained insight into the gravity of his actions".

Erin, of west London, was jailed for six years in 2009 for spiking Bella Prowse's drinks after she became pregnant, but refused an abortion.

Ms Prowse gave birth to a healthy boy.

She was a secretary at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington where Erin was a chest consultant.

His trial at the Old Bailey heard they were having an affair in 2008 which left her pregnant.

Erin gave Ms Prowse miscarriage-inducing drugs by grinding up tablets and spiking her coffee and then a bottle of orange juice.

But she became suspicious and alerted the police.

Erin, a married father-of-two, was found guilty of two charges of attempting to administer poison.

Ms Prowse did not know whether her child would be affected by the drug as traces of it were also found in her body. Her son was born in September 2008.

Bella ProwseBella Prowse gave birth to a healthy boy in 2008

The GMC said: "The panel noted that this case is concerned with grave breaches of good medical practice.

"It is concerned that Dr Erin's offences were premeditated acts, using his medical skills and knowledge to attempt to cause serious harm to others.

"As a doctor, he knew or should have known that Methotrexate in particular could cause long-term harm to his intended victim and her unborn child.

"The panel considers that Dr Erin has never acknowledged fault in this case and has shown no remorse for his actions and the panel has received no evidence to suggest he has now gained insight into the gravity of his actions."

The panel struck him off, saying his behaviour was "utterly unacceptable" as a medical practitioner.

I think if you re-evaluate what you eat:quantities, and having a balanced plate at each meal especially, will get the fake pangs gone for good!
A balanced diet (or my take on it)
-breakfast
-mid day snack,if needed
-lunch (this is when you should eat the most, your digestion is the strongest between 12 and 1)
-mid afternoon snack
-light dinner
tips
-don't skip breakfast! have something substantial, such as oatmeal with fruit/peanut butter, whole grain porridge, whole wheat bread with nut butter, smoothie with fruit and peanut butter. If you skip breakfast, your hunger pangs, the real ones, will strike back with insatiable afternoon snack cravings!
-For lunch and dinner, make sure your plate is balanced and healthy: healthy carbohydrates (such as sweet potato, brown rice),whole grains (brown rice again, quinoa, millet, spelt, rye, tabouli,) protein (I am vegan so I don't know your equivalents;but veggie burger, hummus, edamame, tempeh, tofu),vegetables, and healthy oil/fat(avocado,olive oil)
-snacks shouldn't be too big,as you don't want to ruin your upcoming meal. Some fruit, whole grain bread such as pumpernickel or rye, carrot sticks, celery with peanut butter, whole grain crackers such as flax,or a few nuts.
-if you feel a sweet craving and want dessert, have some good dark chocolate or fruit! both very healthy for you.Just don't have the chocolate too late or the caffeine will keep you awake.

Let us know how it goes!

Bad News for Wall Street, Good News for Main Street | Mother Jones

Despite resurgent profits among the titans of finance, Wall Street is slimming down. As the New York Times' Dealbook reports today, heavyweights like Goldman Sachs and Bank of America are shaving operating costs and planning to lay off employees. Morgan Stanley, the Times says, could jettison at least 300 brokers and cut $1 billion in expenses not related to pay.

For the well-heeled denizens of big finance, that's bad news. For the rest of America, it could be cause for celebration.

Here's why. Over the past two decades, we've witnessed the "financialization" of America, in which Wall Street and the banking sector have gobbled up an ever-greater share of American wealth. As economist Henry Kaufman has noted, the ten largest financial institutions controlled 10 percent of financial assets in the US in 1990; by 2008, their control had grown to a whopping 60 percent. And when Princeton economics professor Hyun Song Shin studied the flow of cash in the American economy, he found that, between 1954 and 1980, nearly all sectors grew tenfold. That trend continued from 1980 to 2008, but with one major exception: the securities industry grew 100-fold, largely thanks to the deregulatory frenzy presided over by Reagan, Clinton, and Bush I and II. As my colleague Kevin Drum pointed out, by the mid-2000s financial industry profits had spiked to 40 percent of all corporate profits in America, while Wall Street pay had doubled and bonuses sextupled.

Drawn to that wealth were some of the brightest minds to graduate from America's top universities. The best engineers and scientists weren't necessarily designing solar panels or building the best electric cars; they were working as high-paid "quants," algorithm-writing mathematicians, and high-frequency traders on Wall Street. Granted, the flow of graduates to jobs in finance lessened during the recent financial crisis, but there's no doubt Wall Street remains an enticing and lucrative option for the best and brightest. As Harvard economist Benjamin Friedman lamented, "It's all the more troubling when I think that, after [students] leave us, so many of them go into activities that are not economically productive for the country, for society, even, just narrowly, for the economy."

So the news that Wall Street is trimming its ranks, whether prompted by the European debt crisis or the fear that aspects of the Dodd-Frank law might pinch the financial industry's profits, is perhaps an early sign of waning influence, a modest rolling back of the financialization trend. Maybe the coming years will see big finance relinquish some of its grip on American wealth while still doing the important work of allocating capital when needed. Or maybe it's a temporary blip, an aberration. Either way, with ordinary people still stinging from the pain of the financial crisis, it's obvious that an economy controlled by Wall Street is an economy that simply doesn't work for most Americans.

Morgan Stanley Announces Nonprofit Recipients of Cash Grants to ...

NEW YORK, NY?(BUSINESS WIRE)?Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS ? News) announced that the nonprofits Women?s?Initiative for Self Employment, Feeding America and Episcopal Social?Services received cash grants to implement pro bono strategic advice?provided by Morgan Stanley professionals at the Third Annual Morgan?Stanley Strategy Challenge.

This year, the Strategy Challenge paired teams of outstanding Morgan
Stanley professionals with 15 nonprofit organizations across the country
for eight weeks to provide pro bono strategic advice on issues related
to business model optimization, geographic and program expansion, and
new ventures. All together, the Morgan Stanley teams donated more than
6,500 hours of high-impact analysis and advice ? equivalent to a market
value of approximately $1 million based on pro bono standards developed
by the Pro Bono Action Tank, which estimates how nonprofits should value
in-kind contributions. This figure does not capture the additional value
that the actual recommendations and strategies have brought to the
nonprofits in areas such as productivity improvements, new revenue
streams and more efficient business models. Over the past three years,
the Strategy Challenge has cumulatively delivered approximately 14,500
hours to 36 nonprofits.

The teams presented their final recommendations in a competition at
Morgan Stanley?s New York headquarters on June 15. The nonprofits
associated with the top three teams ? Women?s Initiative for Self
Employment, Feeding America and Episcopal Social Services ? were
presented cash grants of $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000, respectively, by
Morgan Stanley President and CEO James Gorman.

?The Morgan Stanley Strategy Challenge takes our firm?s key asset ? our
talented professionals ? and shares them with organizations that could
use?the?added?resources to tackle critical strategic issues,? said James
Gorman, President and CEO of Morgan Stanley. ?Our teams have put in
thousands of hours of work, and we hope that their recommendations will
help the nonprofits amplify their impact within their communities.
Giving back is part of what Morgan Stanley stands for.?

The first-place team?worked with Women?s Initiative?to?determine how the
organization could best prepare itself for its desire to expand. The
team provided the organization with key financial and organizational
benchmarks it needs to achieve to prepare itself for growth beyond the
San Francisco Bay area.

?Taking businesses to scale is exciting ? but potentially dangerous ? so
having Morgan Stanley experts providing us with the triggers and the
safe pathway to achieve that scale was invaluable, and will lead to
thousands of women finding economic security as well as job creation
when our country needs it the most,? said Julie Castro Abrams, CEO of
Women?s Initiative.

Janet Gibbs, Chief Financial Officer of Feeding America said, ?We were
thrilled and honored to be among the selected charities that benefitted
from the Morgan Stanley Strategy Challenge. The collaborative business
model that the Morgan Stanley team developed will allow us to harness
the power of the network to achieve significant cost savings ? in order
to feed more people, in more places, throughout America.?

Elizabeth McCarthy, Executive Director, Episcopal Social Services,
commented, ?The Morgan Stanley team we worked with really embraced our
programs and the children we serve, and helped us to quantify the
success of our early childhood education programs. They also helped us
establish a diversified funding model that will enable us to continue to
serve low-income children in New York City despite significant cuts to
public subsidies. We are so grateful for the continued partnership of
Morgan Stanley.?

This year, the Strategy Challenge expanded to include nonprofits from
San Francisco and Chicago, as well as New York City (see below). The
organizations? missions address issues ranging from childhood nutrition
and job training, to educational advancement and wildlife conservation ?
among others. They were selected from among hundreds of nonprofit
partners of the Firm through a rigorous selection process.

The Strategy Challenge is jointly sponsored by Morgan Stanley?s Global
Sustainable Finance Group and Morgan Stanley Community Affairs Office.

?Morgan Stanley is committed to contributing its business and financial
expertise to help non-profits develop the long-term sustainable business
models they need for enduring success,? said Audrey Choi, Head of Global
Sustainable Finance at Morgan Stanley

Added Joan Steinberg, Global Head of Community Affairs at Morgan
Stanley: ?The issue of scalability can be difficult for charities to
manage. Since the Strategy Challenge was launched two years ago,
nonprofits continue to tell us our professionals? pro bono advice is
helping them to grow and achieve their strategic objectives.?

Revealed: 10 big Apple Store secrets (The Week)

New York ? In The Wall Street Journal, former employees dish on how the retail juggernaut tightly controls the customer experience

With its airy layout, glass staircases, and iHappy atmosphere, the typical Apple Store is a very, very pleasant place. That is, of course, no coincidence. A new Wall Street Journal report uses confidential Apple Store training materials and interviews with former store employees to give a behind-the-scenes look at just how the gadget giant stealthily shapes every customer's experience. Here, 10 secrets of the Apple Store revealed:

1. It's not about selling
Several customer service manuals note that employees should focus on solving customers' problems, not selling them new products. "Your job is to understand all of your customers' needs ? some of which they may not even realize they have," reads one manual. Employees don't work on commission or have quotas to meet.

2. ? unless we're talking service plans
There may be no quotas, but?former employees say selling service plans along with iGadgets is a must. Those who don't ring up enough service plans are retrained, or given a different job.

3. There's a cutesy acronym
A 2007 employee training manual lays out the A-P-P-L-E "steps of service" with an acronym of the company name: "Approach customers with a personalized warm welcome," "Probe politely to understand all the customer's needs," "Present a solution for the customer to take home today," "Listen for and resolve any issues or concerns," and "End with a fond farewell and an invitation to return." It is reportedly still in use today.

4. Steve Jobs is very, very involved
Apple's CEO is involved in the minute details of the stores, giving input on crucial details, like what kind of security cables tether products to tables. One source recalls visiting Jobs shortly after his liver transplant two years ago, only to find the recovering honcho fussing over blueprints for future Apple stores.

5. The customer is always right (about pronunciations)
One Apple store employee recalls being told that he should never correct a customer who mispronounced the name of a product, lest they feel patronized.

6. Employees get canned for being late
Forget the 15-minute rule, and make sure your watch isn't behind (or just use your iPhone for the time). Apple employees can be fired for being more than six minutes late three times in a six-month period. Six minutes!

7. And they must stay positive
Genius Bar employees are trained not to use negative language. When they can't solve a technical issue, they're told to say, "as it turns out" instead of "unfortunately." A confidential manual also advises on the specific language to use with "emotional" customers. "Listen and limit your responses to simple reassurances that you are doing so. 'Uh-huh' 'I understand,' etc," it reads.? "Apple is pretty controlling? to say the least," says Damon Poeter at PC Mag.

8. ? and keep quiet
Strange that your friendly Apple employee doesn't seem to know any of the widely reported rumors about the iPhone 5? It's probably all just an act. Employees are under strict orders not to discuss rumors about any upcoming products, or prematurely acknowledge widespread technical issues with a current product. Any employee caught writing about Apple is fired.

9. ? especially if they're new
Why isn't that Apple employee even acknowledging you? He may just be new to the job. While undergoing training, recent hires aren't allowed to interact with customers. They shadow a more seasoned employee for a few weeks until they're ready to go their own way. Apple "spends a lot of time and resources on actually training its retail employees," says Bryan Chaffin at?The Mac Observer. That's "something almost unheard of in the low-margin retail industry."

10. And about that Genius Bar appointment...
You booked your Genius Bar appointment online, showed up a few minutes before the scheduled time, and somehow you still had to wait an hour to talk with a "Genius." There's a reason for that. Wall Street Journal sources say Genius Bar appointments are typically triple booked. No wonder the bar is often swamped.

White House to send Congress Libya report (AP)

WASHINGTON ? Facing questions from Congress, the White House is sending lawmakers a detailed report Wednesday outlining the objectives of U.S. military involvement in Libya and making a legal case for continuing the campaign.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the more than 30-page report would answer inquiries posed in a non-binding House resolution earlier this month that chided President Barack Obama for failing to provide a "compelling rationale" for the Libya campaign. The measure asked the administration to respond to questions on the scope and cost of the mission by Friday.

Carney said the report would also include a legal analysis showing that the Libya campaign has been consistent with the War Powers Resolution, which prohibits the military from being involved in actions for more than 60 days without congressional authorization, plus a 30-day extension. House Speaker John Boehner says Obama's 90-day window runs out on Sunday.

Obama did not seek congressional consent for U.S. airstrikes against Moammar Gadhafi's forces. The White House insists there is a legal basis for continuing the mission, but has thus far provided no detail on what that is.

""I think that we have been acting consistent with the war powers resolution. We will continue the mission," Carney said Wednesday.

While the U.S. led the initial airstrikes on Libya, NATO forces have since taken over the mission, which is in its third month. However, the U.S still plays a significant support role that includes aerial refueling of warplanes and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance work.

Despite criticism from Capitol Hill, Carney said the president expects congressional support for the Libya campaign will continue. With Gadhafi under pressure to leave power, he said now is not the time to send mixed messages about U.S. commitment to the campaign.

A bipartisan group of 10 lawmakers sued Obama Wednesday for taking military action against Libya without war authorization from Congress. The lawmakers said Obama violated the Constitution in bypassing Congress and using international organizations like the United Nations and NATO to authorize military force.
