Pioneering proAV unified communications project wins big with ...

Egham, Surrey (PRWEB UK) 13 March 2012

In a fitting finale to a remarkable awards season for proAV, the systems integrator?s pioneering AV project at global insurance underwriter, Catlin?s new London offices in the City?s Gracechurch Street, scooped the title of Most InAVative Unified Communications Project at last week?s InAVation Awards ceremony in Amsterdam.

The c

ategory was contested by some of the industry?s most exciting audio visual installations, but the Catlin project, which features a fully immersive ATX telepresence solution, large format displays and digital signage, building-wide IPTV distribution and a bespoke streaming and content system, was a clear favourite for the judging panel. Indeed, the project had already attracted industry attention as a finalist in the Videoconferencing Project of the Year category at the recent AV Awards.

proAV worked closely with the project?s technical consultant to create an inspired, homogenous communication solution based around the AV industry?s most groundbreaking conferencing products and platforms. Together, proAV and Cordless incorporated inspirational technologies throughout the project, relying on Omnivex?s Moxie digital signage platform, VBrick?s world leading streaming and Exterity?s IPTV distribution systems and, key to conferencing coordination, a global room booking system to connect international sites.

?The move to 20 Gracechurch Street came about as we outgrew our previous office space, explained James Stratford, Catlin?s Group Operations Manager. ?As part of an exciting design that drew on our five core values; transparency, accountability and teamwork, integrity and dignity, we needed to provide a first class AV and comms facility. AV consultants, Cordless and proAV worked hand-in-hand with us from the outset to provide facilities that we can replicate globally and enhance as technology advances.?

As Paul Andrew, AV Consultant at Cordless, confirmed, a professional, collaborative communication infrastructure was integral to the success of the Catlin project.

?Our brief was to harmonise Catlin?s communications network with the world?s leading video conferencing technologies and create the ultimate meeting experience for the organisation?s workforce, partners and clients who are based across its international sites. Our specification delivered a fully immersive, collaborative meeting experience with on-demand global conferencing, media distribution, display and presentation facilities in an innovative and entirely future-proof AV solution.?

In a change to InAVate magazine?s traditional mid-ISE prize-giving ceremony, the 2012 event was held at Jamie Oliver?s Fifteen restaurant, where 200 finalists enjoyed a sumptuous four-course meal before the winners were announced. The event was a great success and InAVate looks set to follow a similar format in 2013.

proAV was also nominated in the Most InAVative Corporate Facility for its revolutionary and, to date, the world?s most substantial Crestron DigitalMedia solution at Nomura Bank in London. There was also a nod in the Most InAVative Public Sector category for the innovative 3D imaging project at MATTU, the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit.
