FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Shonn Greene is confident he has a big game coming. The New York Jets running back is staying patient and trying not to pay attention to those who think perhaps he's not able to carry the load.
Rex Ryan declared before the season that Greene would be the Jets' "bell cow," with the bulk of the carries going to him. With LaDainian Tomlinson used more as a third-down back, it would be Greene's responsibility to uphold Ryan's "Ground-and-Pound" approach on offense.
So far, Greene has been mostly grounded. He has rushed for 314 yards on 93 attempts for a mediocre 3.4 average per run. Still, he and the offensive linemen say there have been recent signs that Greene and the Jets' offense are running in the right direction.
