Job Summary: iLEAP seeks a creative, mission-driven individual to serve as its new Development and Communications Coordinator. This person will work closely with iLEAP?s leadership team to expand iLEAP?s community of donors and partners and to strengthen the overall fundraising program. In addition, this person will play a key role in implementing iLEAP?s communication strategy to reach diverse audiences and build awareness of iLEAP?s mission and impact.
About iLEAP: iLEAP inspires and renews social leaders and global citizens through integrated leadership programs that ignite hope and transformation in the world. Throughout the year, iLEAP conducts leadership training programs in Seattle, WA with experienced social activists from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. These intensive programs are designed to strengthen the leadership skills of participants and foster regional networks of change leaders who are connected through a values-based approach to leadership. Over the past five years, iLEAP has experienced an incredible period of growth and success. As of July 2012, iLEAP has trained over 140 people, from 18 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. iLEAP graduates connect to new partnerships and resources around the world and reach higher levels of leadership within their field. Currently, iLEAP has three programs: 1) International Fellowship, 2) Social Innovation Forum and 3) Social Innovation in Seattle.
Primary Job Duties:
- Coordinating key elements of iLEAP?s fundraising program (including strategies for individuals, foundations, organizations, businesses, and others);
- Planning and implementing special events for iLEAP constituencies (including an annual fundraising event, donor cultivation events, and stewardship receptions);
- Implementing a communication strategy to raise awareness and tell iLEAP?s story.

TASKS
- Development and Donor Relations
- Support ED and Board in building key relationships with individuals, businesses, educational institutions and civil society organizations who can support iLEAP;
- Develop systems for effectively managing and tracking donor data;
- Manage donor stewardship process, including acknowledgement/thank you letters;
- Conduct preliminary prospects research; and,
- Identify grant opportunities and support the ED in developing grant proposals.
Event Design and Management
- Work with teams to plan and design iLEAP events (including fundraising, donor education, cultivation, and stewardship events);
- Assist in coordinate of event programs;
- Organize event logistics and follow up activities; and
- Ensure smooth functioning of events.
Communications and Media Strategy
- Develop and disseminate informational materials, both in hard and electronic copies, for use in meetings, presentations and/or public events;
- Expand iLEAP?s use of web-based communication strategies, including e-newsletters, iPhone app, video, and other social media;
- Collect and document iLEAP stories?including photography, video, etc.?to be used in marketing and donor communications; and
- Create and maintain effective forms of information management on graduates of iLEAP?s programs and their in-country activities.
Other Administrative Duties
- Assist other staff and volunteers in planning and carrying out diverse program activities;
- Attend staff meetings and other relevant meetings with program participants and community partners; and,
- Identify and supervise interns.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevant field;
- Three to four years of work experience in an international and/or cross-cultural setting and one year or more of living outside of ?native? culture;
- Three to four years of work experience in fundraising and donor relations;
- Documented successes in executing special donor events;
- Understanding of how to implement an integrated communications strategy;
- Experienced in the creation and/or design of visual media/communications materials (print, digital, etc.);
- Proficiency with PC based software programs (Word, Excel, Publisher), office technologies, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google suite, Flickr, Picasa);
- Demonstrated professional commitment to human and community development
- English language fluency; and,
- Native or Advanced Spanish a significant plus.

Hours: 40+ hours per week; flexible schedule; evenings, weekends and domestic and international travel may be required. Some irregular work hours and times when work needs to be completed on deadline, irrespective of a ?normal? work day.
Compensation and Benefits: DOE.
