We had our shower when our son was just over 2 months old. Revocation was over and we had a really nice typical kind of luncheon styled shower. We registered for what we needed. We held a drawing game of chance where guests would get a ticket for every item they brought to support our local pregancy center (diapers, wipes, gift cards, etc), 3 winners got a little "movie night" gift bag with rental certs, candy, soda and popcorn. It was really cool. We got so many needed and thoughtful things, but my favorite was something old. When I was little my greatgrandmother knitted us all jackets, hats, mittens, etc. I'm one of 3 girls...all pink. But my mom had asked my great grandmother to knit her childhood best friend an outfit when her first son was born. My mom's best friend surprised us with the little blue button up knitted jacket and matching hat, saying that it made and used in love but now back where it belonged. That was pretty awesome.
