BJ's sees pickup in food sales (Investor's Business Daily) | WorldNews

The warehouse chain said its Q1 EPS rose 29% to 63 cents a share, beating views by 7 cents. Sales grew 10% to $2.83 bil, in line. It sees Q2 EPS of 74-78 cents, above estimates for 73 cents. BJ?s Wholesale Club (NYSE:BJ ? News), which is considering selling itself, also raised its full-year EPS forecast to $2.68-$2.88 vs. views for $2.80 as people shopped its stores more often for food and rising gas prices led consumers to switch to its lower-cost gas stations. Shares rose 1.8% to 52.19.
