274347 100000093386727 1296717 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Mandy Hopkins? This year I will have a 3rd and 1st grader, I have been looking at Truthquest History?last year we used Abeka History and loved it, but I wanted something deeper and that I could use w/both students. Any info or suggestions would be great!!!

211679 1591419368 8334641 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Jen Grice We are enjoying Story of the World. There are 4 books you just read-a-loud. My kids love learning like that. We don?t take tests! Just reading comp?telling dad what they learned about today. And unit studies. It works for us. Find what works best for you!

186590 1468142224 5074019 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Jennifer Niese Navara We use Story of the World as well accept we do the audio(and I have the book so I can read what they are listening to). I bought a sturdy spiral sketch pad and created a timeline in it. So after listening to a lesson we will place a card of? the event/person on the timeline and view a memorization card. Its been very simple to just listen if we choose, but they enjoy the hands on activities and it helps them to remember You can find all kind of cards and activities to go along at Hannah_hs_helps@yahoogroups.com

211620 664319695 2771752 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Suzanne Powell Pace Mystery of History!!!! And then get some of the Amy Pak ? Home School in the Woods products to create a timeline that will last for the entire rest of all their school years.. I use this with our children ages 7,6,4, and our younger ones 3 and 1 will be coming up.

186590 1468142224 5074019 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Jennifer Niese Navara I hear Mystery of History is awesome too!

161104 100000090052569 1184533 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Stephanie Lindsey Gibbs We did something real fun for history when our kids were a little older. We copied the lyrics to ?We Didn?t Start the Fire? by Billy Joel and read and discussed these topics. The kids had a blast!

212015 1396337162 7410198 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Stephanie Barcus Stevens I love truthquest. I just use it as a glorified timeline and use living books we?ve collected, supplementing from the library.

202897 100000688138100 1958937 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Teri Helms TruthQuest is amazing! End of story. (Pun intended.)

They actually run and get the book before we go out the door so that I will have something to read to them when we have to wait at the dr. office or in line at the grocery. We are about half way through the first volume and will stick with it. ? it!

187183 714149271 4330030 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Lisa Tucker Big fans here of Story of the World!

274347 100000093386727 1296717 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Mandy Hopkins When using Truthquest, do you use the lapbooks set w/it?? My oldest loves reading & listening to what is being read outloud. Its my 1st grader that isn?t good at sitting still! Lol (plus I will have a Kindergartner and toddler. Needless to say, we?ll do history during naptime!!)

195652 1434581277 114290 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Shirley Price Murray History Revealed through the Answers in Genesis bookstore

211419 1324952866 5071252 q Homeschool Question of the Week?Mary Souther Clendenin? There is a new series that is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! You can find it at http://www.queenhomeschool.com/. It is called A Living History of Our World. You can read more about it at the author?s blogspot? http://alivinghistoryofourworld.blo?gspot.com/. I have 2 sons and they love it! It is a snuggle on the couch book, written in Charlotte Mason living book style?nothing boring here! There are journals that go with it that will be keepsakes, if you want to use them. There is no need to, but we supplemement with Your Story Hour Cds, Drive Thru History Dvds and great books from Queen?s Homeschool. History is one of our favorite subjects and we could spend all day on it! Largely due to this great curriculum!
